Here's a tutorial I filmed using my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette! I hope you enjoy it - don't forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more videos!
This past weekend (October 3 & 4) I attended Generation Beauty NY - which was Ipsy's first time bringing the show to the east coast! I have attended Gen Beauty LA the last two times, and was excited (and of course, relieved) when I found out that it was going to be just a 20 minute train ride away from me.

The event was held at Pier 92 in Manhattan, which allowed for more space compared to the space provided at LA Live. Walking in, the decor was familiar of that from LA. I decided to register the night before the actual event to avoid long lines the day of the event. I was disappointed when I found out that they weren't giving away totes upon registering. They instead encouraged you to bring your own tote (so that you can carry the items you will be receiving throughout the event). You had the option of purchasing an Ipsy tote, but I decided to just bring the one that was given to me back in LA.

On to the event itself : it was definitely quite busy and full of people! I felt like there were way more people here in NY then back in LA. Although I had a good time with the friends that I went with, I felt that the vibe was off overall. My friends noticed it as well - now I'm not sure if it was because we were in a completely different city (but we were in our city, for crying out loud!) or because the weather wasn't so great (thanks to hurricane Joaquin). I noticed there were way less panels, and a lot less interaction between attendees and the big name beauty influensters. I also found myself waiting on lines for ridiculous amounts of time, which meant I missed out on goodies I could have gotten at different booths, which in turn kinda sucked the fun out of the experience in general.

Moving on to the best part - the goods! I was happy with the goodies I received throughout the 2 days I was at the event. In the picture I only show you what I got in the gift bags for Saturday and Sunday, but in my Generation Beauty Swag Bag Haul video I go more in depth and show you everything that I got - go check it out below!

I am looking forward to attending more Gen Beauty events in the future! If you have attended Generation Beauty, what was your experience like? Let me know!
I'm pretty late in blogging about this event (my apologies!) I was not going to ignore the fact that I attended such a wonderful event!
InStyle Summer Social
Back in August I was invited to attend the InStyle magazine Summer Social. I must admit, I was VERY surprised when I received the invitation in my inbox! I excitedly RSVPed and before I knew it, the day had come for me to attend! I was pretty nervous and didn't know what to expect since I have never been invited to an event like that.
Once inside, I slowly made my way around the venue, and found that there were several brands showcasing their products. I was SUPER excited to see that Dickinson's was there - if you really know me, you know that I love using witch hazel! It truly is an amazing product. Other brands in attendance were Essie, Neutrogena, Gardein, Brancott Estate was giving out samples of their wine - which tasted quite amazing, Sally Hansen, and hair was being done by Jose Eber. There were several other brands in the building as well.

Towards the end of the event I had the chance to pick up a pretty awesome swag bag! InStyle didn't disappoint! I was happy with my experience overall, and event made a new friend. I'm looking forward to attending the event next year!
Let me start off by saying that I have been a fan of TRESemmé products for years! I tend to switch up what I use on my hair quite often, always looking for products that play nice with my naturally curly (and rather damaged) hair - but I come back to TRESemmé's shampoos and conditioners.
It is now September, and you know what that means - it is almost time for New York Fashion week! Fashion Week is of course quite a big deal here in New York, and most importantly in the fashion world. The focus isn't just on the clothes, hair styles are also being watched! This year, TRESemmé will mark its 15th consecutive season as the official hair sponsor of NYFW. To celebrate this impressive milestone, TRESemmé will have spaces set up featuring custom built salons, offering guests complimentary styling using TRESemmé's wide range of products. The spaces will be located in both official IMG/WME Fashion Week venues, which are Moynihan Studio and Headquarters. In addition to having the custom built salon, TRESemmé will have a co-branded VIP lounge with E! network at the Moynihan Station Salon. TRESemmé's sponsored show lineup includes Rachel Zoe, Banana Republic, Carolina Herrera (my personal favorite), Diane Von Furstenburg amongst others. TRESemmé will also parter with six digital style and beauty bloggers to cover the event in their own content series called Style Setters (I wish I were one of the six!) in which you can follow along at home.
Join TRESemmé to see what's on the runway, get backstage access, tips and tricks, and how to get the latest and hottest hair looks on TRESemmé's YouTube site.
