Smith's Rosebud Salve in a Tube Review

Hate chapped lips? Who doesn't?!

I have seen rave reviews of Rosebud Salve in the tin form on the Sephora website, but always hesitated to purchase it, because the idea of having to dip my finger into the product and then rub it all over my lips while out in the world without washing my hands was just gross. Smith's Rosebud is actually a multipurpose product - could be used for your cuticles, dry skin, irritations and even diaper rashes!

Recently while I was in Sephora, I saw that it now came in a tube form - I couldn't walk away from it! Although it can be used for different things, I just wanted something moisturizing for my lips.

Don't mind the faded silver lines on packaging - faded due to everyday use.
As I applied it to my lips, I immediately noticed the very rosy smell. For me personally it's a wee bit too strong, and not exactly my cup of tea (smells kinda old ladyish to me) but it isn't anything unbearable, and after a few moments it goes away. The product has a slight pinkish color to it, but won't change the color of your lips. It is not sticky at all, and leaves your lips glossy. Very little goes a long way!

A little goes a long way!
As far as hydration, it does the job. My lips immediately felt very soft and very moisturized. However, after a few hours, I found myself reaching for the tube again to apply some more. It was very disappointing to me! Don't get me wrong, it does do the job every time I apply it, I just wish the effects lasted longer. It didn't live up to the hype for me.

I will continue to use it daily as I usually do until I finish the tube, but would I repurchase? Probably not. I am still in search of that miracle lip product. Any of you out there have a holy grail lip product(s)? Please let me know!
